This experience was brought up recently when a friend was asking me for recommendations for a spa in town. Initially, I had brushed it off and moved past it, but retelling the story brought up some feelings about this incident with Audra. I had been going to Audra for years and did not have any issue. I paid for services, mostly facials, and received the services with no complaints. I even recommended her to friends and family. Audra does talk a lot, which is completely fine. On days when I am not in the mood and would rather be in silence and relax, I felt comfortable enough to say that and she would respect it. However one day, she was talking and got into the subject of regalia and clothing that Indigenous people wear. I am First Nations, so this is not an uncommon topic that comes up. I am very patient and respectful when non-Indigenous people are curious about my culture and give them grace; however, when Audra started talking about our men “Dancing around with things on their heads, in thongs” and our girls only had regalia as their “pretty dresses” and did not own the same special dresses as non-First Nations girls. I was offended, I was uncomfortable speaking up during my facial so I said our people wear the same thing as everyone else 95% if the time and would appreciate being treated as equals then bit my tongue and waited to bring up how I felt until my appointment was over. After my appointment was over, I simply said to Audra “I do not believe you were being racist, and I may have misunderstood what you were saying. But the way you were talking about “my people” did make me very uncomfortable.” Rather than give an apology about continuing to talk about how Indigenous men dance around in thongs with things on their heads after I was clearly uncomfortable, Audra doubled down and said she was not a racist and demanded an apology. I again said, I didn’t believe she was being racist but I just did not feel comfortable with the way she was speaking, especially during what was supposed to be a relaxing experience. I stated that I was not comfortable continuing with the rest of my prepaid appointments and asked for a refund, which she refused. I asked if I could transfer my appointments to someone else, again she refused. This went on even longer through text where she said she would not cancel my appointment and I could show up or not. That we can call it a misunderstanding and she would accept an apology and a hug. After repeatedly saying I would not be comfortable getting the facial service I paid for from her, we finally came to a compromise that I would be able to transfer my service to someone else who rents a space in her building. I ended up getting a pedicure with another aesthetician who was the sweetest lady. I have not returned and will never return, but I truly hope that Audra has gotten better at receiving feedback from clients on her lack of filter.

Audra is an amazing and extremely talented. Would 100% recommend her to a friend. She helped sculpt my brows from a hot mess to gorgeous in no time at all. She strives for perfection everytime. Her salon is relaxing and welcoming. I have officially found my new salon.

A trip to Audra's always leaves me smiling. From the ambience of the warm, inviting waiting area to the relaxing spa services (yes even the waxing!) Audra is professional, caring and puts you at ease immediately with her friendly smile and great sense of humour. Everyone I know who has been for a wax agrees that no matter your body type, shape or size, Audra makes you comfortable and at ease. Every service I've had has been perfection. Her spa is very clean, smells wonderful and even has a bowl of yummy candies. Audra takes pride in her business and great care with her guests and it shows in everything she does. I've been going there for three years and have never had anything but a wonderful experience. Her receptionist is also friendly and professional. A great place to go for ANY spa treatment - facial, massage, nails and yes - she IS the queen of waxing. She knows her stuff!! Thanks, Audra!

Audra is AMAZING. I avoided waxing being a bigger girl and self conscious but to say Audra put me at ease would be a huge understatement, she made it painless in every way and allowed me the opportunity to leave her spa feeling beautiful and much more confident. Her facial was outstanding and I did not want to leave her spa afterwards. I couldn't be happier to have found Audra and will be a guaranteed lifelong customer .... I beyond highly recommend this amazing woman!!! Thank you Audra from the bottom of my heart!!

I have been a client of Audra's for the past 8 years and every visit is fun and is like a visit with a friend. She is well known for her incredible waxing services, but her facials are also amazing. Her expertise and the knowledge she shares while preparing you for your facial is very helpful and she explains all that she will be doing and what each step is all about. I have never fallen asleep during a facial but at Audra's it is so relaxing and soothing you can't help but have a nap :) After each facial I have left with a feeling of a fresh start as my skin is brighter and healthier looking. I would recommend Audra for not only her waxing, but her facials and her pedicures! Thanks Audra !
