After hearing many positive reviews about Athena Nails & Spa from a friend, I decided to call and book an appointment for a Spa Shellac Manicure. The lady who answered the phone was very kind and informed me that I could walk in the same day, which I appreciated. Unfortunately, my experience did not meet the expectations created by the positive reviews. This was my first visit, and I was assisted by a nail technician named Rio. I found him to be not very welcoming and also he don’t talk much , which resulted in very limited interaction during the service. That said, I did enjoy certain parts of the experience. The neck warmer was relaxing, and Rio did check several times to make sure I was comfortable with the temperature of the water, hot towels, and hot stones, which I appreciated. When it came time to choose a nail color, I was unsure whether a light or dark shade would suit my skin tone. I asked him for his opinion, but unfortunately, he was not very helpful, and I ended up choosing a dark color on my own. Although he confirmed at the end that I was okay with the color and I said yes, I still felt uncertain about my choice. It also appeared that he was experiencing back pain and had difficulty sitting, which made the service feel rushed. As a result, I do not believe my nails were given enough time to dry properly. After returning home, I noticed that the polish looked uneven and bumpy. Within two weeks, my nails began splitting in half. I have had my nails done many times before, and they have always lasted much longer, so this was very disappointing. I am especially upset about the damage left on my nails, which has never happened to me before. I understand that everyone can have a bad day, and that may have been the case. I may consider visiting again in the future, but I would prefer a different technicians someone who is more interactive, can help with colour selection based on skin tone, and allows enough time for the nails to dry properly without rushing.

My grandmother and I got pedicures yesterday and I really appreciated the quality work done by Ivy and James. They were very gracious and I appreciated how they interacted with my grandmother, as she is having health issues and can be sensitive about her appearance. They made us laugh and treated us well, they went above and beyond. It was a special treat for both of us and my toes look beautiful, thank you to them!

Wow, the best pedicure ive ever had! Friendly, welcoming, personable, relaxing, and professional staff. I will be coming back again. Totally worth the 3 hr drive. Thanks Athena staff for the amazing time!

By far the best nails I've gotten done in Saskatoon. I've tried lots of salons, none were even close to the perfection I got done by Eva in this salon. I'm glad I found my go-to place at last for all my future nail sets. I'm very very very happy with the service and attention to detail and perfection. I'm out of words but I will surely recommend this salon and especially to look for Eva when getting your nails done, they look just natural!!
