I had a membership at the Taber Anytime Fitness, however, due to management being the same at Medicine Hat I feel as though this information is relevant: I had an active membership at the gym, and at one point they informed me they were unable to process my payment in Feb 2025 because they had lost my credit card information. I went into the gym in person and physically provided my card so they could re-enter it into their system. Despite this, they still claimed they were unable to process payments due to a system error. After this, I stopped attending the gym. I later received one email from the owner regarding missed payment in October 2025. I responded to that email asking about cancelling my membership. In their reply, the company admitted there had been a system error on their end that prevented them from charging my card. However, after that exchange, I received no further communication for months. They later claimed they had my updated payment information as of October but chose not to process any payments. There was complete radio silence for months. The owner has record of phone calls being made, however he does not knowing the billing procedure or if it’s an automated. (I found out it is & I have automated calling blocked). Recently, I was contacted by Collections and told I owe over $500 in outstanding membership fees. I called and spoke with an employee who informed me that my account had been marked inactive and cancelled due to the earlier payment issue. However, I then received another call stating that my account is actually still active and that I owe the full outstanding balance. The handling of this situation has been extremely unprofessional, inconsistent, and poorly communicated. At no point was I properly informed that my membership was still active or that charges were continuing to accumulate.

Excellent facility. Staff are friendly and helpful. The equipment is all in great working order, no complaints about anything at this location. Highly recommended!!!!

Absolute nightmare. Move out of town for work with no other anytime fitness around while on the phone the guy said they will stop the auto renew process and send me a cancellation form for when my contract is done (which is fair due to contract). However I always ask about cancellation due to being burned by anytime at a different location. They re-assured me the process was easy and knowing my work schedule it seems weird for me to check the auto renew button as I move for work. All I asked was to stop the membership when it was ending because I became too busy to send documents of where I moved to. They said no it's a 30 day cancellation as per contract. Anytime Fitness is a joke. The heartless owners make it a spot I would never want to spend my money again. Go somewhere else with a better cancellation policy At this place I have email exchanges from back in April about me wanting to cancel (August now).

I’ve been with anytime fitness for around 3 years and I’ve always been very satisfied. Place is cleanly, staff is nice, and everyone that works out there is friendly. Definitely recommend and the 24 hour access is so worth it
