This is the first time in my life that I have ever given a bad review. Despite having visited this clinic multiple times and always being treated with kindness and patience, I am still giving a three-star review in the hope that the hospital will take this matter seriously and improve its diagnostic standards. My dog passed away, and I hope what I write can help other pet owners who may come here in the future. Two weeks ago, I brought my 9.5-year-old English Bulldog here. The clinic was efficient and quickly arranged an appointment. I explained clearly that my dog had eaten a toy, suddenly became weak in all four limbs, staggered while walking, lost bladder control, and had a rapid heartbeat. Shortly after, he stood up again and acted normal. The vet suspected an intestinal blockage caused by the toy. For the sudden weakness and loss of bladder control, the explanation given was a possible spinal issue — but no spinal problem was found. Because the clinic mostly treats minor cases, even though I repeatedly expressed concern about the incontinence and sudden collapse, the focus still stayed on digestive issues. As a result, we missed the real diagnosis. It was actually a heart problem. I also blame myself — when my dog showed the same symptoms again, I still trusted the digestive explanation and didn’t push harder. My dog often ate things he shouldn’t, and he always vomited or passed them out eventually, so I wasn’t worried about that. What I was truly concerned about was the sudden collapse and loss of bladder control. Later, it happened again — and this time my dog passed away suddenly. He died while otherwise being active and happy, which clearly had nothing to do with his digestive system. Because of the misdiagnosis and missed diagnosis, I lost the chance to help him. Although the vet did recommend a referral, the referral was still based on the toy-eating issue. My dog had eaten toys more than ten times in his life — I was not worried about that, and he did end up vomiting the toy out. The vet suspected the digestive system and suspected the spine, but never once suspected the heart. Sudden collapse with incontinence, sudden limb weakness followed by quick recovery — this is textbook heart-related behavior. I am writing this review hoping that in the future, when the clinic sees another dog with these symptoms, the first suspicion will be a cardiac problem. Vomiting can also be an atypical symptom of heart issues. At last, still appreciate to their former efforts to my dog’s ears and eyes. Today Dr. Walkie called me to offer his apologies and express condolences for Batman. At first, I thought they reached out because they saw my negative review. Later, I learned that they had received Batman’s medical report and knew his passing. I appreciate the way they handled the situation afterward, so I changed my review from one star to four stars.

Absolutely the best service. From the ladies at the front that took my call and checked me in to the vet herself- just absolutely wonderful. They made sure my cat was okay, but also that I was okay. Made a treatment plan in minutes and started on it immediately. Thankyou all so, so much. I’m so grateful to all of you, and so is my little Robin 💜

This clinic has always provided a great experience for our dog, Goofy. Our recent visit with Dr. Cathy Wilkie was no exception. She took her time, conducted a thorough examination, and explained everything in detail. Unlike some other vet clinics, they never exaggerate health concerns just to make money. They genuinely care about the well-being of pets. I highly recommend this clinic and Dr. Wilkie!

These angels saved my dog’s life, no doubt. Dr. Alexine Crofts was amazing. She obviously cares a lot and it comes across in everything she does. Scooby have a cancerous tumour removed. It was a complicated procedure and they handled it like pros. He’s alive and well because of them. Highly recommend them. Scoobers and I can’t thank you enough!

We've been seeing Dr. Sharp since Reggie was 13 weeks old and 13 lbs at the Georgia location. For some of the bigger surgeries like neutering, we've gone over to the West Vancouver location and met with Dr. Wilkie and Dr Crofts as well. All of the vet techs, vets, and staff are just so wonderful and helpful. Reg wasn't an easy puppy with digestive problems, hip problems, and allergies so we were frequent flyers back in the day. Thankfully with the help of the staff at Animal Medical he's a happy healthy dog. We would 100% recommend trusting your fur babies with this wonderful team!
