When you walk into a business the atmosphere of the front desk can really make or break your first impression. Thank you to Jane who is always polished, professional and really welcoming whenever I visit. She is also very knowledgeable about any questions I might have. You can tell she takes pride in what she does and she does it so well.

When I walk into Michelle S’ class the atmosphere is very welcoming and she has the most sunshine filled smile that radiates and fills the room with light. She makes sure she warmly greets anyone that is new or their first time to a particular class, as well as bringing humour and laughter throughout the class. Her instruction is very concise and thorough as well as engaging with everyone in class and recognizing if someone needs help. She teaches in a very clear and organized manner that is easy to understand. Her vast knowledge of muscles and fitness is displayed through her instruction. If I could give her 10 stars or more I would. Thank you Altea for this remarkable instructor!

I’ve had a great experience at Altea Active so far. The gym has an awesome atmosphere — clean, welcoming, and motivating without feeling intimidating. It’s the kind of place that actually makes you want to show up and put the work in. The staff are absolutely top-notch across the board: friendly, professional, and always happy to help. A special shout-out to Kaelah, who was fantastic from the start. She was super helpful, knowledgeable, and made the whole signup process smooth and stress-free. You can tell she genuinely cares about members having a good experience. Overall, great facility, great people, and a really positive vibe. Highly recommend. 💪🔥

Almost three years at Altea, and I love it (mostly). Amazing staff! They are always nice. They used to always say goodbye to everyone before you left. Now not so much, but it was a cool feature that I always enjoyed. Amazing sauna (but people talk instead of keeping peace which is annoying and over stimulating at times ), hot yoga (I recommended Tally) cycling, and the second-floor patio in summer are all fantastic. There’s also a quiet room which is cool. I love the active wall, it reminds me of being in the forest. The gym is inclusive with women-only spaces and gender-neutral change rooms. They also have an aquarium, which hopefully the fish are being taken care of with respect. Cons: hot tub is always in maintenance. prices keep rising and as a student it’s really tough as it’s already unaffordable and eventually I’ll be priced out. They say it’s for renovations, but, every year they renovate anything except for the actual gym where you lift weights. Legit, maybe I’ve seen five new machines total for the actual gym in three years. Back to the price increase every year: This has never happened to me at any other gym. I’m sad that I don’t get any benefits/discounts/or even the same gym membership price that I signed up for my loyalty to Altea, and instead just get charged more to come even after three years. It kinda hurts the soul at times to think about. Especially at other gyms where I was given respect through discounts for being a continuous member. They even got rid of their point systems where you get free smoothies. The treadmills sometimes break which sucks. TV programming could be better—my opinion is Jets, Raptors, and Bombers games would make the gym even more enticing if they made it a focus to make sure they play the important games. Sometimes I would be at the gym, the raptors game would be on, be Altea is playing something like Poker on the TV. Also where has fruit day been? I miss that. Side note: as an Indigenous person, the RCMP officer statue and I always stare each other down. A lot of beef with that statue haha. It’s a weird statue to be at a gym in Treaty 1 territory in Winnipeg. Overall, and jokes aside: Altea is my community, my second home, and I’ll keep coming back. Fun, challenging, welcoming, and occasionally weird in the best ways.

I’m loving this gym! The moment I walk in and am greeted with a smile and staff that looks genuinely happy to be here. My personal trainer Tiffany is great and watches my every movement making sure I’m not at risk for injury. This place just has so much to offer and makes working out a fun way to spend my time. Highly recommend Altea!
