As a new mom/parents, we truly appreciate how patient and kind Sargon and the other barbers are during my 1 year olds haircuts. They take their time with him while still delivering a great-quality cut, which genuinely impresses us every visit. They never make you feel rushed and always ensure their clients are well take care of. We are happy to have found our families barber shop and will continue coming back—even if we’re living farther away from Maple Ridge.

My sons (12 and 10) absolutely love coming here. The stylists treat them with so much respect—like young adults—while still subtly checking in with me to make sure everything lines up with what I’m comfortable with (no shaved heads in winter because they don’t wear hats!) They listen to what the boys want, give great suggestions, and the cuts always turn out fantastic. The price is also wonderful. It’s become their favourite place, and mine too! Highly recommend

I just got the best haircut I have ever gotten in my life from Maiya. She was super attentive and listened to everything I asked for. Since it was also my first time there, she made sure to go slowly and check that I liked everything. Also she went above and beyond, informing me that if I bought some product next door from the shoppers drug mart, she would style my hair. Thank you very much and I will be coming back!

The absolute best! I’ve been bringing my boys to Akitu for about 8 years, all the way from Ladner. Sargon is, hands down, the most talented, kindest, and most patient person. Arthur is truly amazing too!
